Installing nagaText is a two step procedure. The first step is to install the program itself. The second step is to install any additional font information files to make your true type fonts work with nagaText.
Installing additional font information files
Insert the nagaText Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive of the workstation. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the drive that contains the installation CD. To initiate installation, double click the file “setup.exe” on the root directory of the CD. The following windows will appear. Please read the messages closely, and then click “Next”.
After clicking next, the nagaText Licensing Agreement window will appear. Please read this agreement closely, and decide whether you accept the terms of the agreement. If you accept the terms, click the circular button next to “Yes, I Accept the Terms of The Licensing Agreement. If you do not accept the terms of the agreement, you will not be allowed to install nagaText. If you do not want to accept the terms, leave the button beside “No, I Do Not Accept the Terms of the Licensing Agreement” checked, and click next. This will terminate the installation process. If you accept the terms, click the circular button next to “Yes, I Accept the Terms of The Licensing Agreement, then click “Next”.
Another window will appear that will allow you to select the destination for nagaText installation. NOTE: The nagaText installation program will create a directory called “nagaTextXX” (where XX is replaced by the revision number) under the directory you choose for installation. Therefore you DO NOT need to manually create a nagaText directory! Use the explorer window to navigate to the directory where you want nagaText to reside. Above the window, the text box will update in real time to show you the path where nagaText will reside. Note, the path will always contain a nagaTextXX (where the XX in this name is replaced by the revision number e.g. nagaText11_6 for revision 11.6) directory under your designated path. Once you have chosen the desired path, click Next.
A window will appear that showing that the installer is ready to install the files onto the workstation. Click “Install” and the program will install the necessary nagaText files onto the workstation.
After several minutes, another window will appear to confirm that nagaText was correctly installed. When you are finished reading the messages, press “Finished” to dismiss this window. nagaText is now installed on the workstation.
Removing nagaText from a workstation is a very simple two step process. To ease in removal, nagaText was designed to reside entirely in one directory on the workstation. This directory will be entitled nagaTextXX (where the XX in this name is replaced by the revision number e.g. nagaText11_6 for revision 11.6). To remove nagaText from a workstation:
Installing additional font information files
It is important to note that nagaText does not distribute copyrighted font material. For background on what an addition font information file is and why it is important, please see the explanation of these files by clicking here.
The additional font information files are available on the nagaText compact disk in the "Additional Font Information" directory. Copy the required files from the compact disk to the "(path to nagaText directory)\nagaTextXX_X\fontInfo" directory. Please note that the X in the previous statement should be replace by the correct version number of nagaText. Each font will require two files, they will look like (fontNameHere)G.dll and (fontNameHere)M.dll.
Updated font information files can be obtained from the Naga Software web site. To access more font information files, visit www.nagasoftware.com and select "Support" and follow the signs that lead to the download area.
