Function Interfaces
nagaTool features an intuitive user interface that allows users to become productive immediately. The interface was designed to minimize mouse clicks and allow efficient user input. All functions are thoughtfully laid out to flow with the thought process of the designer.
Each function features a dialog which guides the user through the input process. Users of Onespace will be glad to know that all nagaTool functions feature a "next" button, to allow for successive operations with minimal reentry.
In many of the functions, the user is prompted for design parameters for creating the desired model or feature. In these cases, nagaTool performs checks on the input, and provides feedback to the user if the parameters are not valid or cause a standard component to become a custom component.
Illustrations
Illustrations are included in the function menus to give the user quick examples of what nagaTool is expecting for input. These examples allow for fast interpretation of each input by the user, preventing the need to go to the help system to discover the definition of an input variable. Of course, more information can be found in the context sensitive help documentation, as described in the nagaTool help system description.
Illustrations are also used to display various options for design specific variables. Rather than trying to verbally describe the option, nagaTool shows the user what option that they have selected. This allows for quick feedback, and helps eliminate user errors.
Where applicable, nagaTool provides tables of standard choices when the user is prompted for the size or option for a particular component. These tables allow the user to be sure that the component they are building is a standard size
